Ideas

"When the Himalayan peasant meets the he-bear in his pride,

He shouts to scare the monster, who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail.
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male."

Quote from Rudyard Kipling's The Female of The Species.

Still thinking of some ideas but came across this animation, Panda By ArtFX, the panda in the animation uses a painted texture that is bright and energetic. I thought of the opening paragraph to the poem when I saw this. Another animation that may be of help, as it shows the
combination of human nature and animals.
Even though it uses no CG, the narrative is well thought out and structured. Hopefully these help.
